I love house cat. I just can't finish one by myself.

It's probably fine if you took it out with a bowie knife while it was in the process of upturning your 4x4, stomping on the tents and chasing fat American tourists. Mind you, the water buffalo is a formidably dangerous beast - shoot a wounded one in the long grass and you can do what you like with its skin!

I don’t have any problem with elephant leather in principle: after all, they are used as beasts of burden in Asia
and they must die from natural causes.

I do have a problem with elephant leather in particular: it’s just so unbelievably ugly.
You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, why, oh why, try to make shoes out of an elephant's ear?

Also, nice bit about "Rhodesia"

I think you missed his concern of poaching vs. harvesting domesticated livestock. Not saying I agree, but you should always be charitable when interpreting someone's viewpoint.

That's a frustrating post-adolescent spurt, I'm sure. It's also frustrating because I'm closer to your present size than your past size and was cheekily planning to ask after the boots
