Your hair's not really a problem. It's OK, it suits you. You should really work on getting some definition in your arms and body and lose some of the baby fat in your jaw/neck. Do P90X, by late summer you'll be a completely changed guy. It'll help a lot with your confidence and the girls will absolutely notice the difference. Yes, all too late for the ball, but just in time for the rest of your life.

How would someone achieve this hairstyle?

By taking the image into your hair stylist and showing them exactly what you want.

^i think the brad pitt haircut above would actually work for you N. i've found i can trust the more expensive places more with bringing pictures. i once brought a pic of someone with a french crew cut from a ralph lauren ad to a dime barber but got a clooney. awesome though. got a lot of compliments on it.

I mean like other than the cut. It looks like there is some hair product use involved, what is it and how would it be used?

Will, can you rename the thread "take a picture of the style you want to your hairdresser". I think people are asking because they want to know how to do it (very vaguely) at home without a hairdresser.

Need a new hairstyle, debating whether to cut it short or grow it out. Any suggestions?

Here's my current hair:

I think you should grow it a bit longer first and try a style at that length. If that doesn't work THEN go short. If you go real short first and don't like it, it will take quite a while to grow it back out to a length you like.

http://img33.imageshack.us/g/110521151326.jpg/ Would a #2 buzz cut look good on me? I want a short haircut that requires minimal maintenance. EDIT: When you click the link, it'll give you an error. Just copy + paste it into a new tab.

You should try using professional dry shampoo. It sounds to me that your Jair is lacking moisture and if you are finding every second wash is better definitely give it a try. If you are also looking for better texture, consider getting a hair cut that will give you just the right amount. It's amazing how a good hair cut can take away many challenges that you are having

I don't mean any old website... i want a focus on hair so i can click on something that will show me loads of thick wavy hairstyles that i can pick from

at the moment ive got the pompadour/james dean thing going on but im looking to switch it up
Instead of looking for the right website to find the perfect picture of a haircut that you might think will look good, book yourself an appointment at a reputable salon. They are professionals that can give you suitable solutions and beautiful ideas before deciding on a gorgeous look. Consultations are free so you won't feel the pressure of cutting it but make sure you let them know it's for a consultion and not a cut!

Depends on your facial structure. Wet your hair and slick it back to get an idea of what it will look like buzzed.

I'm growing my hair out - possibly shoulder length. I keep telling my stylist I'm growing my hair out and he seems to be keeping the bangs shorter than I'd like. I'm thinking telling him to comb it back will get the point across that the bangs need to be longer. The combed back, gelled back look is kind of boring (of course some people make it great). what are alternative styles and older barber can implement? 'Til I hit up a legit stylist.. that is...

I like my hair a lot, but it takes a lot of work to get it to do this because it is so thick and naturally very wavy:
