I compared your pics to one of my own Hermés ties and I believe you may have snagged the elusive ebay deal.

FWIW I see nothing wrong with the belt from the (poor quality) photos provided. I have two Initiales belts and comparing them to the one in the photos I can't see any obvious signs. The information gleaned from the date code (Made in Catalonia , Spain in December 2012) ties in nicely with the story of him having received it as a gift a few months ago.

It's hard to be certain with such blurry photos but nothing there screams out "fake" to me. However I'd avoid that Damier Azur colour regardless as it's part of the women's collection.

Thank you. Too bad I actually like it or I could probably flip it for a quick sixty bucks!

Hey guys, sorry for bringing up this old thread, but thought it might be better raising my concern here rather than creating a new one.

I just picked up a very nice Brioni sports coat on my holiday in Lago di Como in Italy. I found it in a kinda outlet store in Como, where they mostly had local Italian brands I never heard of. Out of all the stuff they had, there was this single Brioni coat at very good bargain which I couldn't resist smile.gif
However due to the incredible price I paid I'm a bit unsure, if this might be a fake...? Unfortunately the sewed on Brioni label was missing, but you can clearly see were it originally had been sewed on.
Based on this thread I added some pics and hope you guys can help clarify, if it is an original or fake.

Cross-post from the ID thread:

Trousers by Kiton, but the fabric tag for the trousers seems more like Isaia...

Looks real, albeit slightly dated.

Does look like Isaia... never seen a fabric tag like that for Kiton - Kiton usually uses a fabric tag that is much smaller.

+1 Definitely real, but old. The inner-pocket tag says it's deadstock from the 1980s or 1990s. Certainly nothing inherently wrong with that, but it's probably been sitting in someone's storage warehouse for quite a few years.

Thanks for the quick response. I don't really mind if the coat is dated and thought myself that it might have been a shelf warmer...I think the guys in the store had absolutely no clue what they were selling....anyways for 26 EUR you can hardly go wrong smile.gif

Certainly not! I've seen that happen before...stores that sell off their old stock to discounters or simply bring out things for sales. If it looks good and fits well, it's a steal!

Jean quality and wash is also above average, though not selvedge (but I wouldn't necessarily expect them to be).

Thanks in advance.

Zegna ties - authentic? (updated w/ close-up photos)

Just curious what everyone thought about the Zegnas this guy is selling, or if anyone has done business with him before. I ordered one from him, but the label seems a little off, and it was shipped in a plastic sleeve with a Zegna logo that looked to have been printed pretty sloppily.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Edit: Here are some photos of the tie I purchased. Any thoughts? Thanks again for any help!
