Sorry, not that I am blind, but I'm not so familiar with the 'shoe terminology'. I'm in the market for a new pair of boots that are slightly dressed up yet casual, to be worn with jeans, perhaps paired with a sports coat or blazer. How would this pair do?

No, sorry, there are no non-square-toed shoes.

Heutchy does sales on Gilt very often. They have a good affordable chukka boot.

Also, vis-a-vis the word "affordable" - be willing to go outside your usual price range a little. Leather goods, especially shoes, really reward some investment, and a good pair of shoes can last you a long time.

That said, a good cheaper option would be a pair of Beatwear chelsea boots, at beatwear.co.uk

Loake do the Kempton in black calf - pretty versatile and not that expensive (around £150 GBP):

Kemptons are alright, tho I'm not a fan of the black.

I don't like the one I have, but it is a mid-gray that is hard to wear.
