So I'm sure someone will get an IBP on this as it's going to take me a minute to type this out.

Who is your pick for the weakest Top Chef?

Vote away.

I'm trying to decide between Ilan and Hosea. Leaning towards Hosea.

Ilan gets my vote. Hose a very close second.

The one star thing is really funny to me on this thread for some reason.

I agree with gdl but I switched his choices.

Hosea. That entire season was so goddamn boring. It was like wactching a 16 hour documentary on filing cabinets.

The problem, of course, is these are different sample pools. I mean, put me in a group of 85 year old, amputee women and I will toss up better MMA stats than the current USC champion. I've never seen anyone attempt to take unequal sample universes, compare the results between sets, and make a conclusion like this.

Kevin's failures seemed to be more often due to execution faults. Too salty, too cold, too undercooked, etc. He knew flavors and had creativity. I also really liked his calm demeanor.

good point. they are "graded on a curve." who faced the toughest competition from most to least: hosea, kevin, and ilan. but in the end, aren't they really competing against the challenges, not the other challengers?

The challenges do not get eliminated, the challengers do.

the challenges are not contestants to begin with, and i don't see one season's challenges being more or less difficult than another season. if there was a season where all of the winners competed against each other, that would be pretty cool. also, i remembered a key point: being the winner of top chef mostly means...that you won top chef. it's not necessarily indicative of how good a chef you really are off the air. not even the finale.

Ilan for sure. He didnt step out of his comfort zone once the entire season and just cooked Spanish food. Although, Marcel was annoying he at least took risk and made things interesting at times.

That depends entirely on your definition of what a "good chef" is right? Right or wrong, it's clear that some chefs in each season look down on others and consider them weak chefs. We see it constantly on the show.
