Lufty, I love the way you keep the trad or [kencpollack]TNSL[/kencpollack] flag flying here. The fit of your stuff is usually exactly what it should be even if most here do not like the sack cut.
Thanks. It took me a lot of trial and error to realize that I just want to keep my wardrobe simple. I was really into ridiculous colors and patterns when I first joined SF, then found myself swept up into the 60s/slim/RLBL/BBBF wave. Took me a bit, and some time on the AAAC trad forum, to find my niche. This works for me, and so long as I don't become a complete fat-ass in the next few years, I think this "look" will last me until I wear these suits out.
I think a lot of this is a early morning lighting and my poor phone camera. The tie's a brighter green and the suit's olive. I tried to play with the balance, but I ended up looking like a turtle if I touched anything.Couple of crits: 1) Tone of suit and tie are too close IMO. I don't mind close tonality all the time, but I think it works best with blues and grays. This could be the photo but that suit could be brown, dark olive or gray. I suppose it is gray but it's hard to tell. I like dark green with gray typically but somehow it doesn't "work" here. Could be the lighting, not sure.
Though of using a knit too, but I wanted to use the same tie and square that I did yesterday (which was horrid), as a sort of challenge.2) I don't like the woven tie with the BD. I think the soft, informal collar needs an informal tie, a madder or a foulard or a repp or a knit.
I know it's sacrilege, but the only brown shoes I have ATM are suede monks. I have a few pairs of tan/chili colored shoes, but they looked odd to my eye with this getup.3) This absolutely demands brown shoes. The tie is super "earthy." Black shoes only work with kelly or other bright greens. Brown would look so, so much better.
See above.4) Tuck the sqaure down a bit please.
that's a beautiful sack. Pants need to be longer though.
Agreed that they could be a touch longer.
Right looks shorter than left, too.
I think (hope) its a result of running into place for the timer.
