Another business trip. I know how most people here feel about button downs with a suit, but are they CBD, especially American CBD?
Generally yes, I'd say, though it depends on your location and profession. In my parts, they're almost a uniform among the suit-wearing crowd, especially among older guys.
The final tie is by far the nicest (but then I have dubious taste in ties
I have mixed feelings about the pink and blue tie - it's pretty bright for one thing. It was early spring and I was trying to inject a little color into my outfit. I have always rather liked the dragonfly tie, so perhaps my taste is a bit dubious as well.
Fit looks off in this shot. I have seen it before, looking better...so maybe this is just an off shot Acrid.
I would have selected a darker tie.
Mike
Thanks. Not sure what is different.

It's a purple/lavender color. Definitely NOT light blue.

Here in the northeast, they are pretty common. It's all my father and grandfather ever wore.
I don't know where the line is betweed bad purple and good lavender but I suspect it's like any other color. There are blues that, while still "light" on the color wheel, are too dark for a classy shirting. Ditto with pinks.
Lavender is fine for CBD, if everything else is quiet.
OK, I think I need to explain how to do a proper TV fold.
You guys seem to be doing it the way it is explained in books, that is, a top flap is folded down and back, which gives you a perfect and crisp top edge.
Better is to fold into quarters first, and then by thirds lengthwise, and then tuck the bottom up to fit. That way you show the edges and layers up top, which looks a little less picture-book precise.
I agree there is something to be said, what I would say is that it looks very similar to a piece of cloth glued to a piece of cardboard. Dot Ties: They're too formal, it's one step from wearing a satin tie to a job interview. A tie like Mr. Pinks would be a much better choice. I doubt that they'll be offended, but they'll probably wonder where the wedding that your attending is taking place, or possibly wonder where your speaking arrangement is being hosted.
