CBD WAYWRN: An Experiment - Page 69

vox, why not delete some of your old posts to make room under the 25,000 cap?

maybe go in and replace what you said with ".." -- you know, zero them out

Can I use your TV static avatar? That was cool.

I thought your post-count stayed the same, even if a thread in which you have posts is deleted? You can't find the posts but the counter never goes backwards.

Mods?

I have pinned collars. People rarely notice or comment. I like the look. Plus, it can save some unwearable shirts that have super narrow point collars.

Manton, don't take any of these comments the wrong way as I love the idea of this thread and I think you are doing a good job in it (no homo). "No homo" is an homage to Bull. 1) No gorge that high can be considered CBD. 2) Those shoes are not CBD. Too light and too clunky. Maybe they were business dress in the 1960s but when's the last time you saw someone dressed for true business in NYC wearing chestnut pebble-grained longwing tanks? 3) Suit is too light for CBD by today's standards. By the way, this thread seems to have devolved from "CBD WAYWRN" to "People who actually look good in what they're wearing WAYWRN", which I applaud wholeheartedly.

Agree with (2). (1) is a stretch IMO (no one cares or notices), and (3) is simply not the case.

Thanks, I rarely have anyone comment on the collar pin. I dont think anyone notices or cares.

Mike

+1, RL doesn't do a great job with collar roll so I tend to like them better pinned.

Duly noted.

+1 I don't think anyone, outside of tailors and clothing nerds on internet forums, know what gorge is and what would be considered too high or low. That suit is awesome - BTW. Manton's outfits are very nice, but I don't think he has posted a pair of truly CBD shoes yet. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

It looks good.

The question of lapels is an interesting one. As far as I'm aware peaked lapels on a single breasted jacket have never been incorrect (they were certainly not uncommon in the 20's and 30's), but have gone in and out of fashion and have probably always been in the minority. Does this preclude them from 'conservative' maybe? Lapel width and notch placements/styles vary through the years. I suspect what would have been considered within the realms of 'conservative' in the 70's would now be considered over the top.
