yep, these things will happen if you risk living near a danger zone. unfortunate, nonetheless

reminds me of people along the gulf coast in the south who put their houses on stilts. they understand the certainty that calamity will strike, yet defiantly risk everything for whatever reason

my buddy lives in Shinjuku, and he had to move to an island to avoid the damage. He is alive though so I guess they are doing ok...

Having visited Japan and appreciated kindness and friendship of japanese people, my prayers go to all the unlucky victims of this tragedy and to all the guys who need the strenght to rebuild their lifes.

Yeah I have a friend in Sendai, who I haven't heard from yet. Shit's real bad there so I'm hoping the best for her... Then of course there's all the nuclear explosions and stuff too. Terribly sad stuff.

Well, I leave to study abroad in Japan in a week and a half. I haven't left yet and all my friends are already worrying about me, oddly enough. I'm headed to Osaka so far from the earthquake, but a friend of mine is headed north and she's not sure if she can still study. I wish the best for all the Japanese people tho.

The situation there is really bad, but Osaka is safe. I've friends in Osaka and they didn't feel any shakes. So you should be safe going there.
