If any of my fellow denizens of Gotham are looking for something to do tomorrow night, I'd highly recommend tomorrow's Sinatra tribute event at the Edison Ballroom: http://www.thesalon.biz/ For those unfamiliar with it, the Salon has been throwing great Gatsbyish parties (usually at the Player's Club on Gramercy Park) for the past couple years which afford rare opportunities to wear otherwise unwearably swanky/vintage attire, drink well-made cocktails, dance to live music, and ogle the city's finest burlesque performers. There's a cosplayish contingent, but also plenty of folk just dressed to the natty nines for an old school party. I'll be one of the latter (a tall half-Japanese fellow wearing a dove-gray 3 pc--please introduce yourself if you see me!). And $50 p/p for an open bar is steal.
