Alden QC: Would you be happy with receiving this pair of shoes? - Page 7

I would send those back. They should not have gotten out of the factory like that. It is even worse a vendor thought it was OK to send those to you. It does not take a color expert to see that those are way to different a color.

Amateur. Had you bought five of the same shoe, you could mix and match to make sure each pair is the right color.

Point well taken. What kind of variability have you seen in your purchases, btw?

you would have 4 pairs and still 1 pair mismatched. you would need to buy in even numbers.

I think everyone should get a little perspective-- this is not the end of the world-- one of the shoes happened, for some reason, to get a little extra sunlight. If the owner of these super nice shoes simply put the darker pair in the sunlight for a couple of days, it will lighten and gain a beautiful cherry red patina, just like the other, lighter pair. How do I know?-- I own five or six pairs of color #8 cordovan shoes from Alden, and trust me, the darker pair will lighten up when exposed to sunlight-- as I said earlier, this is not the end of the world.

Show the photos Foo. Many newbies here haven't seen the spectacle of the one shoe army.

Wow. Good thing those were so mismatched, or else I would have kept them. Damn those were some ugly shoes. uhoh.gif
