How can Alden possibly not notice the multi-shade difference in the shell color between the two shoes?

So now I am stuck with either keeping these, or sending them back for a refund. But I love the design and there is not another pair in stock.

I may be done with Alden...

Perhaps at Leffot they had 2 different pairs in 2 different colors, and maybe one of the workers mixed up the pairs and put them in the wrong boxes.

Perhaps they had the right shoe on display and over time perhaps near a light, or under strong sunlight caused the right shoe to lighten, while the other shoe was in it's box.

If you guys hate Alden then don't buy Aldens!

No one's saying a production should be without defects. Some of the stitching or the scratchy eyelet stuff is harder to detect, but that kind of color difference takes 2 secs to notice. The fact that their QC let that pass is the issue. They're either borderline incompetent or even worse, they think that kind of shit is acceptable and let it pass to see if they can get away with it.

I think it's actually far more likely that there's a natural variation in the leather. I've seen many many many pairs like this at the Alden SF store. Aldens should be purchased in person!
