Hi everyone, I'm a 22-year-old male who's quite skinny and is fond of wearing polo shirts because they seem somewhat more fashionable than a regular t-shirt due to their collars. Anyway, when I was browsing through a small and local clothing store in town I happened to spot some discounted Southpole brand polo shirts similar in size and color to the ones below:

I realize that most popular brands of polo shirts (i.e. Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, Fred Perry, etc.) tend to be much smaller and tighter, so would it be considered too "ghetto"/tacky for a regular suburbanite, 5 ft. 7 male such as myself to be wearing such clothing? I ask this because when I was looking through those kinds of "hip-hop style" polo shirts, my friends claimed that they would look way too "ghetto" for me.
I also ask because when I was browsing through some archived threads such as this one: http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=127643 some people seemed to disdain those kind of large-sized polo shirts. Thanks for any information provided.
