I don't really know if this is frowned upon, so sorry if it is. I just wanted to let people here know that the stark is $240 retail and the naval is $200 at tres bien. I'm not affiliated with tres bien or anything, I just think it is kind of silly when offerings here start over a price at a known web store.

Yes, being a douchebag in somebody else's sales thread is frowned upon here.

You will be surprised at how much actually thinking about the consequences of your words before you post will increase your longevity here. Questions like, "Is it a good idea to shit in somebody else's sales thread when I have no idea how things work in B&S yet" are good places to start for somebody with 11 posts.

Bump for a good seller.

Bump for a good seller.

If someone is asking more then MSRP for an item, I don't think it's thread shitting to point that out.

Doing it publicly though instead of through a pm is in poor taste, especially if the seller is anticipating dropping the price.

I've seen lots of guys on here start off their sales at retail knowing full well they're eventually going to end up dropping the price $50 to $100. Lots of drops can create interest.

Besides, pronxs, that's kind of the pot calling the kettle black when you're charging $65 for a used Tanner belt that you can get brand new for $58 with a 30% code from Tobi. You did it because you were anticipating having to drop the price a few times, which you have done (and hope you can get a good price for).

All I'm saying is that as an online community we need to be respectful of each other's sales threads in public.

My apologies to the new guy if I sounded too harsh and snarky, I'm just tired of seeing this happen repeatedly (mostly from guys with low post counts).

Actually the stark is 240 EUROS not USD when you buy it retail - comes out to over 350 USD

Its $264 on tbs after vat reduction and shipping. So you save 4 bucks and eliminate the risk of customs. So as long as this guy is a reputable seller, seems like a better deal to get it here than tbs, just without the usual 70% B&S discount.

SNS retails at €216 (at tresbien, from SNS its actually €210), but you dont pay EU-taxes in conus, so it's €172 = $240.

I was not trying to "shit on" the thread, or the OP. It is highly possible that he also overpaid and is just selling it at the same price, not trying to con anyone. So I just tried to, as politely as possible, inform anyone that it could be had cheaper at an online store.

To me "thread shitting" is saying "that looks ugly", "who would wear that?" etc, but I obviously have a way too low post count to have an opinion on that.

First off, I'd like to thank everyone in this thread for their input. It was not my intention to rip off or deceive anyone by charging over "retail". I based my prices on what I saw on SNS Herning's official website, where retail is 240 EUR ($335) for the Stark and 180 EUR ($251) for the Naval sweater.

With that said, I've always posted in the Buy/Sell forum under the assumption that asking prices are negotiable unless stated otherwise by the seller. I will gladly consider any reasonable offers on any of my items. I have sold items to numerous members of this forum and have never had any issues.

Making any kind of price comparison with an item a person is selling on here to the same item in a store is thread-shitting because it creates the possibility of losing a potential sale.

It's fine if you want to go posting in the one of the non-B&S forums about a great deal you found (it's encouraged even), but to do so in somebody's thread is just gauche.
