In Praise of Gray ... (Spin-Off) - Page 14

Sean,

I really don't have a problem with any of those combinations except maybe #1. The chinos seem a bit too casual for those shoes. However, it's not a really bad combo and would do in a pinch.

Butler, thanks for posting that superbly tailored fit.

Here's a Gray combo X post from the "Friday Challenge" thread.

Butler's grey on grey combo is rather elegant. Nice one icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

I was never a huge fan of grey but I do have this one suit with a nice check running through it, I wore this for the monochromatic challenge:

My favorite gray suit (and my avatar) a Borrelli I bought from ShopTheFinest last year. The ultimate pick-and-pick grey pattern.

Great looking suit...I'm on a mission to find a dove grey suit for spring/summer.

I dig this combo. Not sure which tie to wear though...

Too broad a question - the setting might eliminate many options. That said, the tie should be bold enough that people look toward the face instead of the feet.

Built-up shoulders and skinny lapels.
Perfect for a Lenny Bruce impersonator.

If you think that lapel is skinny, you must not have been paying much attention to lapel sizes the past several years. That would be a medium lapel to be worn with 8-9cm ties. As tie width narrow, so do lapels.
