Jeans Similar to APC New Standards

I'm from the Men's Clothing section, so forgive me for asking what may turn out to be a simple question. I've worn APC New Standards for a little over a year now (1 Wash), and they're great. I love almost everything about them, from the lack of frills to the quality of the denim. The problem now is that I'd like a second pair of jeans with a slightly higher rise, i.e. something I can wear a little higher up, closer to my navel. I used to wear 501's before my APC's, and they do have a higher rise and people say they are similar to the New Standards, but... I don't like them at all. I just don't think they work well for me. Does anybody have any recommendations for what I should get next? In case it matters, I wear a size 30 in the APC NS.

1. http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=55144 2. I'd recommend Samurai 710. I too only wore APC NS for a very long time, but have a pair of the Samurai that I love. The denim is a heavier weight, but once you wear the jeans a few times, it's not really noticeable.

Thanks; I did see that thread, unfortunately I don't have time to go through that many pages.

What size did you wear in APC NS, and what size do you wear in Samurai 710? Also, where can I pick up a pair? I'm from Boston if that helps.

Do you own these jeans? Any idea on what size I should be looking at, or where I could pick up a pair?

i dont own a pair. the last time i tried a pair of diors on was maybe 2007. i don't really give a shit about them but many people like them. online you can buy at luisaviaroma (expensive) or eluxury (less expensive) offline you can cop at barneys, perhaps other places.

Jesus. I just looked these up; are they really going for $400 - $800? I thought APCs were decent quality jeans, but after wearing them for a year they're really starting to get some large holes. I'd hate to spend $400 - $800 just to have them fall apart in the same time frame.

Does APC still make their standard jean? I know for a while it was only available at the nyc store. It was billed as a higher rise new standard. I'm sure you can give them a call and order it.

The quality really isn't going to be much greater as you go up in price. The japanese brands have more interesting denim but it will still develop holes in heavier use areas. I really like the Warehouse 660 but I'm not sure if that's going to be too tapered for you.

spitfire, You might want to try something from Acne? Approximately the same price range as APC, but maybe a little bit more expensive (depending on the wash, model, etc.) From what I recall, the Mod or Roc cuts might be what you're looking for. Mic and Max tend to have a slightly lower rise than an APC New Standard, though. Not too familiar with some of the other ones, so maybe give them an email; they've been pretty helpful every time I've talked to them, from what I recall. You won't get an sick fades from Acne denim, generally, though.

I honestly prefer these to my NS. The fit is somewhat similar.

I was looking at those. How does the denim quality compare to APC? Will they fade like regular 501's or APCs?

The old Hedi Slimane-designed Dior jeans were great, tighter than APC NS. I had a few pairs and wore them until they disintegrated.

Love the APC PS which are like the Dior 19cm. The APC NS is like the 21cm.

Now, I prefer RRL Slim Fit Jeans...

I like these too, but they still have a pretty low rise. On the rare occasion I want to tuck a shirt into jeans, these don't work that well for me.

That's the huge problem I'm having now; I always tuck my shirt into my jeans, and low rise jeans just look terrible doing this.
