I'm watching these guys show something vs Florida as I type this...
The team that started the season is a very different one than what is on the ice now, and what has been on the ice since the beginning of March. The additions of Prust, Shelley, and Jokinen has really given this team a bit more grit that they so desperately needed. They've been winning without Callahan, who in my mind, has been their best all around player this year, and without Avery, who are two more gritty players.
I think they still lack that toughness on the backline, but if they make the playoffs, with Lundqvist in goal they could surprise a few people. And they certainly can make the playoffs with Philly in an injury-plagued free fall. The last two games are a home and home with the Flyers...that should be fun! I'm not saying they're Cup contenders, but they could shock a high seed in the first round, especially if they finish 8th and get the Caps, who I believe still don't have the goaltending to win the Cup.
