Wicked end to a great series. Everything I wanted out of these finals. Pens in 7, nailbiter ending. Good times.

nhl.com has a video of the hand-shake line. Crosby shows up at the very last moment. The captains of the Red Wings did wait (which is what I think the booing was about) and then gave up before he showed up. Not sure what Crosby was doing at that moment.

I don't know why I am so upset that the Pens won. I seriously get enraged reading about that Game 7. Gotta feel bad for Hossa though.

Almost certainly interviews.

its because you know damn well that next season all we're ever going to see on any national NBC, VS., or whatever broadcast are Pens games with the obligatory Crosby this, Crosby that, Crosby ate a child this morning before to help him get another assist, Captain Crosby, blah blah blah.

And then he will dive. And then whine to the ref. But will then be praised for his audaciousness.

Thanks, at least he showed a little bit of sportsmanship.

What I saw when watching it live was that he was hugging every person on the Penguins' staff. There was one shot from far out that showed most of the Red Wings players skating off the ice and he was still hugging folks.

Feel bad for Hossa!? He turned down a great offer from a great, promising team. I won't say that Detroit wasn't and isn't a better team - but the Penguins were justifiably a legitimate contender!

Truth. There is no way in hell that both Malkin and Crosby are not going to win a cup in their lifetime.

Pens should cherish the moment. They are going to have some cap troubles coming up as Malkin's contract will be in full swing next year. Word is the cap will be going down eventually, I'm very interesting in seeing how this will effect the teams.

for the Pens, they're cutting it tough with a few players eating up a huge portion of available space:

Crosby: $8.7M
Malkin: $8.7M
Kunitz: $3.8M
Staal: $3.8M
Gonchar: $5M
Orpik: $3.8M
Fleury: $5M

just those 7 players = $38,000,000 a year, or almost 69% of last year's salary space. Next year, they will have 5 UFA's on offence, 3 on D, and 1 goalie. Thats a lot to fill with the pennies they will have left.

FLYERS just got Pronger!!!!

^But they gave away their fucking future. THREE first round draft picks counting Luca Sbisa, and a conditional 3rd, plus Lupul. That is horrendous, they're looking at another trip to the NHL basement in a few years and in the meantime their cap hit is over 70 million dollars. Good luck getting that to 56 by opening day, guys. Good luck. First round top 3 went as predicted by many, and no pick movement in the top 10 despite Burke's efforts. I think Burkey got a little irritated when he couldn't move up and get B-Schenn, Kazri at 7th overall, I'm not sold on. Good player, but... well, we'll see. The three biggest steals of the draft were: -Dmitri Kulikov, D, (ranked 7th by TSN) going to Florida with pick 14 -Jordan Schroeder, C, ranked 5th in north america by central scouting and in the top 15 by EVERY assessment, going 22nd overall to Vancouver. -John Moore, D, ranked 6th by central scouting and also in the top 15 by everyone, going at #21 to Columbus.

Yea it was a risky move. I liked Lupul a lot. And Sbisa is sooo young, so I don't know his upside. But a d-man was needed. I know that some players will not be resigned , so that will free some space up.
