We have too many young guys that can produce results. The scouting team should be the highest paid people in the organization (sidenote: there was an article a couple years ago that talked about the wings European scout. It was fantastic. I will try and search for it. It basically laid out how he found datsyuk, zetterberg, etc. And convinced the wings to take them when others in the organization didn't want them.)
The two that MAY be on the shortend of the stick will be Hudler and Filpula, if Hossa signs a deal. If not, then we can look at locking those guys in.
We did get lucky in only sinking 2-3 million for both goalies. Conklin is a starter for most teams. Osgood has always been a better than average goalie.
I am pretty sure Stuart signed a four year contract last summer.http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=242170
Chelios will leave, but I could see him playing for another team as the "veteran coach".
I think we signed Flipula to a deal last summer or this past year that locks him up till 2013, so I do not think he will go. I think if they want to keep Hossa then I wouldn't be surprised if Hudler and Sammuelsson, who will be a free agent, are gone.
This might be the article on the scouting:http://www.freep.com/article/2008060...S05/806090354/
