Good to know Bettman and the NHL are doing everything in their powers to advance American teams past the first round (as if this was ever any surprise).

I wouldnt go that far, but I was pretty shocked when that call was made. He was clearly stopping. It really makes no difference as they scored a shift or two later.

Well, it could've been 4-4 instead of 4-3 if the goal were allowed.

I would. I am. It's happening in the Canucks/Kings series and it's also happening in the Sens/Pens series.

That is not logical. If that goal was allowed (as it should have been) the other goal would have not have happened. It is not simple 1+1=2 math. The faceoff would have been at center ice, instead of at the dot outside the zone, different players would have been on the ice, et cetera.

The calls being made in the Canucks-Kings series are just embarassing. They really do call into question the integrity of the game. Henrik sedin quoted after the game saying "That may have been the worst call i've ever seen come from toronto." And that's about the closest Henrik's ever come in his life to being angry.

^Even more so when this happens. VP of hockey operations comes on CBC after the game, explains why he made the call he made, says the line, and I quote, "It was not a distinct kicking motion, but it was a kicking motion..." And the rule says... "Apparent goals shall be disallowed by the Referee and the appropriate announcement made by the Public Address Announcer for the following reasons: When the puck has been kicked using a distinct kicking motion." Wow. Way to admit you just made the wrong call, on national fucking television.

Here's a Bertuzzi goal that was disallowed on the ice and subsequently allowed after Toronto reviewed the play:

I just thing the rule is to difficult to understand...I say anything in off the skate counts as long as the skate stays on the ice...its hard enough to score goals, especially when defenders tie up your stick (which is why most "kicked in" goals are kicked in

can't say I agree with that Detroit goal call, Bertuzzi didn't touch that puck.

So much for my Stanley Cup prediction...well, ryoneo, if it makes you feel better I don't think the Flyers will make it out of the next round with their injuries (keeping in mind I pred the Devils to wipe them, you should be good)

Thanks, that means a lot. I hope the other teams bash the hell out of each other so that we can have some rest.
