Where should I spend 2 1/2 weeks vacation?

I have 2 1/2 weeks off work this coming October. Where the hell should I go? I live in Seattle, so airfare is going to kill me no matter where I fly, so Im open to anything.

What do you like to do? Living on the West Coast, you are much closer to Hawaii and Asia than the rest of us. I would look there.

I like to do everything except hippie eco-tourism crap. Never been to Asia, Africa and most of Europe. I'm thinking central Europe, southern Europe, Bangkok, Carribbean or Hong Kong.

As much as I like Bangkok, you shouldn't spend 2.5 weeks there. there are a lot to see in surrounding cities/countries. Maybe 2 days in bangkok. Same thing with Hongkong. I'll probably get bored spending 2.5 weeks in the carribbeans.

What is your budget? Maybe consider Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and Taiwan for Asia, or a trip through Europe. I believe they have 10 day or 2 weeks cruises in Europe too, more expensive though, but you stop off at a lot of ports so you can see more countries, and your food, travel, and room are all covered.
