Thought I'd bump this with what landed on my desk this morning: Any guesses? (This is should fairly easy...)

A couple of ties from the late 40s. These were part of a group of about 12 deadstock ties I found in a thrift store a few years back. Most were from either Hudson's or Boyd's Men's Store in Detroit.

Pic of me wearing the gold smoking jacket from page one of the thread. New Year's Eve, naturally.

You look like you could be a Bond villain, sans bottled beer and plastic glass, natch.

Just thrifted this today--first decent vintage find in months. 50s 3/4 length tweed topcoat.

That's a handsome coat. Good score.

Vintage Hilda Icelandic sweater--not sure of the exact vintage, but I believe Hilda's been defunct for at least a couple of decades.

I really like this. Any idea if anything similar is still made by anyone.

I've seen other used/vintage on eBay, and I know I've seen a handful of new online. Do a Google search for Icelandic sweaters and you should find some.

1940s (maybe early 50s) Jantzen swim trunks. Sort of a predecessor to the speedo, although these are much higher waisted. Alas, I do not wear these because: (1) I'm modest and (2) I'm a humanitarian. Still, an interesting artifact.

An image of the Jantzen girl, once one of the most recognized corporate logos in the world:
