I'm giving up excessive unnecessary spending, which includes clothes, gadgets/technology, and excessive spending on food and drink/eating out...

unless i'm going to go fast in the desert i don't really see the point. people giving up shopping or sweets are just kidding themselves.

I know its cliché, but I gave up practicing or believing in religion about 15 years ago for lint, and haven't missed it since. Prolonged abstinence either makes you realize how much you miss something, or how little something really mattered to you in the first place.

id say im gonna give up the usual....fapping, drinking, fast food, excessive spending, whoring around, etc. But i wont.

This year I'm not giving anything up, just committing to an extra weekly shift of voluntary work in the community homeless kitchen. But tonight we are the ones getting fed - yay for Pancake Tuesday!!
