Egg whites - Page 5

agree with what SField is saying. its impossible to maintain a diet when it tastes like crap and doesnt satisfy you.

egg yolks taste awesome and make you happy. cut the snickers before the egg yolks.

i didnt even realise grown men ate chocolate bars? always thought they were made for hormonal women and children.

It's possible to overeat anything. Yes, vegetables containing a great deal of fiber will be harder to overeat than bags of potato chips, however it is possible. I really detest the recommendations by "nutritionists" who advise people to eat as much as they please of any vegetable they want. This is just a sign that the underlying diet that they are on is ineffective, and one of semi-starvation. Eating foods high in fat and protein, while keeping carbs low, will keep you sated throughout the day, and you won't have the need to stuff your face with bowls of broccoli to feel satisfied.

you may be missing out on a few key things if you skip the green vegetables

this whole low carbs thing is as absurd as the low fat fad. my mother used to say 'everything in moderation' and nearly everything she has told me has proved true.

25 servings!?

Oh, I absolutely love green vegetables. Personally, I can't get enough of stuff like broccoli, kale, chard, Brussels sprouts, etc., but the point I was making is that having to allow someone to stuff their face with any food usually means that there is a fundamental design flaw with the diet that they are on.

How this relates to egg whites, I'm not really sure, but the source matters when dealing with calories.

yeh ok, understood

like people who dont know the difference between being satiated and being gut bustingly full

learning to only eat until your no longer hungry would do people alot of good. some people seem to think that being in discomfort following a meal is a good sign.

Eggs, cooked right, are extremely luxurious, and combined with the very few calories they provide, are an extremely good thing for fat people to eat.
Don't tell me the Egg Council creeps have gotten to Nigella, too! Edit - I love it when people from San Francisco lecture us on how stupid Americans are, as opposed to the rest of the world. Go back to Cuba, comrade!

Also worth noting is the possibility that vitamin deficiencies are not necessarily caused by a lack of fruits and vegetables in the diet. For instance, the disease of scurvy (a vitamin c deficiency) has been proven to be cured by the addition of fresh fruits and vegetables. However, this does not imply that the reason we are deficient in vitamin c in the first place is because of a lack of dietary fruits and vegetables. It is possible that the consumption of easily digestible carbohydrates and sugars will increase our need for these vitamins that, otherwise, we would derive from animal products in sufficient quantities (meat containing twelve of the thirteen essential vitamins).

I'm not from San Francisco. I'm an American, appalled by the incredible stupidity of many of our citizens who have eaten themselves into a standstill, and some of the members here who are operating on information so misguided and asinine that one wonders if they've ever opened a book in their lives. I think it's great that people like vegetables, but again, why the hell are you eating so many of them? There is absolutely no reason to consume an entire head of broccoli. It's great that you've replaced binge eating with healthier things, but you've got a little more development as far as your relationship with food before you're being healthy. You're still binge eating. Many studies have shown that reducing the volume of food is beneficial to longevity. Not only are we not meant to eat nearly as many calories as most people do, but we should not really be eating the massive amounts that many of us do. It's not just about cutting out shitty food, it's about cutting down on the quantity. Portion sizes throughout most of the rest of the world are far smaller than what they are here, even with these "clean" freaks that eat "clean" all the time but routinely consume a bucket full of steamed vegetables in addition to their proteins and fats.
