I'm not sure that it would. I did trim the nails and the "thumb", but I liked the look of it.

I think the classic way is to leave only one finger, no nails. I like it because it looks like a bird is flipping the bird, but those legs do look great as they are.

One finger is what I had planned to do with the ambroisie recipe I did a while back- could only find frozen chickens with feet though.

I see. I'll just leave one next time. They were pretty nifty. I'm not sure if the thighs would have stayed together as well had I kept the skin on and just tried wrapping them up like that, instead of using the skin to roll them up, but I was quite happy with how well they kept their shape.
