thats how I salt and pepper my steaks but I've seen others here (manton, I'm looking at you) that seemingly barely put any salt/pepper on the meat

I want to find new applications for fresh bay leaves. Really the only thing I've done with them is layering them with paper-thin potato slices and baking them, which is great. Seafood?
I'm not sure of the exact origin. Possibly European, I know it's not Turbest. We got it from Fulton Market. Just shy of 5 pounds. The nicest I've seen.
