Lastol anyone?

A few weeks ago I purchased a CK shirt from Macy's (this one), my first not 100% cotton shirt in over 10 years.

The shirt is 97% cotton and 3% lastol, a synthetic fiber produced by Dow Chemical. Lastol is more abrasion resistant than cotton. I have to throw away shirts after 6 months maximum because a hole develops on the left elbow.

Anyways, back to the shirt, I see 3 differences compared with 100% cotton:
  • It has a nice sheen -- ok for a white shirt but I'm not sure I would like it for a colored shirt.
  • It is much softer than pure cotton.
  • It is not snow white like a cotton shirt is, more like a pearl color.
The shirt itself is quite nice, no front pocket, and no placket seam.
Has anyone else bought something with lastol in it?

No, I'm not familiar with it.

But I've heard that Alexander Kabazz. is the premier Bespoke Lastol shirt maker in the world.

He's probably knowledgeable about Lastol. If I could afford his truly wonderful wares, alas I can't, I might try Lastol!

I have to say that it was a joke before Alex sees this!

But as I think of it. One of the tenets of Bespoke is "Made as you want it"

Alex K., would you do a Lastrol shirt?
