Can anyone compare the sizing on the MacNeils to the Park Aves? I've tried on a pair of Park Aves at Nordstrom and know I'm a 9.5D in that shoe, but I'd really like a nice longwing ... just wondering how to size them.

They are in totally different lasts. 5 Last (Park ave.) is slightly longer and narrower than the 7 (Macneil). I take half size a down on the 5 and get them lightly wider. It's best to try actual Macneils. The OP is not a an actual store so may run into a great deal of hassles if they don't fit you. Sizing on bayfield boots compared to fifth ave shoes or park avenues ?

It depends on your heel and toebox more than anything.

I go a size down in length on the 5 and stick with my normal width. Most tend to go one width up and one size down in length. I wear a 13 C pretty consistently, but go with a 12 C on the 5 and they fit me perfectly.

Conversely, the 7 last (MacNeil) have a clipped toe, so if you have a moderately wide toebox, you'll probably get toe squeezing if you don't go with the proper length.

Just got my shoes - a pair of strands in walnut and a pair of park avenues in black. I'm very happy with them.

I ordered a pair of Strands from allaboutshoes on June 26. They were shipped on June 30, and I received them today, July 13. That's a little less than a two-week shipping time. I'm in Canada, too, so I was very very happy with the shipping speed. The shoes were in fantastic quality, and I can't wait to wear them. can someone comment on roughly what the turnabout rate is? i made the order on the 27th of June, so far haven't heard anything yet, is this normal? seems some of the posters got their stuff in less than 2 weeks...

I ordered two pairs on the 26th of June. Didn't get any confirmation of purchase or tracking number from him, but he did say he was going to be gone all of July, so I'm guessing he was completely rushed and didn't send all of the confirmations out. One of my two pairs arrived yesterday, so I'm expecting the other pair to show up very soon. That's basically a 3 week turnaround for me, which is totally reasonable considering both the price and the fact that he did say he was going to be out.

I'm betting yours will also show up soon, it might take a little longer if you're outside of NYC though, but probably this week.

Those cordovan Strands caught my eye.  Then it occurred to me that I don't particularly care for cordovan.  I've purchased 3 pairs over the years, the last pair a good 15 years ago.  THEN it occurred to me all of them are still going strong.  Hmm.
