Oily skin - Page 3

Producing oil is the skin's way of cleaning and moisturizing itself. It's best to not touch your face whatsoever. When you wash it, use warm water (not very hot) and massage your hands over your face gently. Pat dry afterwards. This avoids unnecessary irritation.

Every few days, rub a tiny amount of castor oil into your skin. No more than a dime-sized amount in your palm. Castor oil is a natural anti-inflammatory. This helps clean deep into your pores. You can also use olive oil to moisturize if you'd prefer it over commercial moisturizers. Taking fish oil pills will also help your skin produce a more effective cleansing oil.

I use the Nivea wash and change my pillowcase every night...one night on each side, then flip it inside out (or just 2 uses, perhaps).

Many believe that oily skin is genetic. I'd tend to agree with that, but if it's getting out of control, then something is wrong, and it can be stopped one way or another with natural oily skin care. However, as people outgrow adolescence their skin becomes dryer, thus decreasing the amount of oily skin and blemishes. When washing your face, use warm water, not hot. Extremes of temperature can also irritate skin.
