They aren't nearly that anti-fit normally. He mentioned how he wore them in a hot bath until dry, constantly pulling them down on his hips, which probably stretched out the waistband and caused shrinking it to his body. I assume this is what caused the nice tight fit around the legs but with an anti-fit seat. Pretty cool how with STF jeans you have about 10% of size to work with when you're doing this. Nothing new, but cool none the less.

My RRDS's that I had straightened fit kind of like that--I'll take a back picture for WAYW one of these days--but they didn't like the stretching at all. I whipped 'em into shape eventually, but it took a lot of hip bruising and such. I've been really warming to the idea of STF recently, because of exactly what you (and the SuFu guy) mention.

I have a pair of the S0505XX - they're pretty awesome. Great fit, slim cut yet repro-esque. A nice compromise between modern and repro. The denim and construction are just what you'd think.

LA Guy,

Now that you've had your jeans for a few weeks, what are your impressions? Would you still recommend them? I'm looking for my first pair of raw denim and am debating between these and APC's. Thanks.

As a first pair of raw denim, I can not recommend the APC New Standard highly enough. I really like the SC007, but would choose the APCs as a first pair because: 1) The construction and denim on the APC NS is probably the best bang for the buck out there. 2) The super low rise on the SC007 is not really suitable for day-to-day use, unless you really like a really low rise all the time. 3) The color of the SC007 is really quite blue, while the APC NS is darker cast and easier to match with a variety of outfits.

just wanted to comment about the sc007 since I had a chance to try them on at the JohnBull store last week in Harajuku. Basically, I found the fit of these to be perfect for me, but like LAG said, they are definitely more blue and don't have the "sheen" of dry denim that you might expect. Also, I didn't find them to be too low-rise, I personally don't like the high-rise of most repros, so I was pleasently surprised with the "modern fit" when I tried these on. If BIG offers them for $168, you are paying only a small markup since they are about 15,000Yen in store. However, I also had a chance to feel the PBJ xx-005 and they seem to be quite a bit heavier which I like. If the xx005 really does fit similarly to the sc007, I may just go with the xx005 just based on personal preference (more expensive though). Overall, the sc007 seems to be a great pair of dry denim that is more on the casual side of the spectrum. Selvedge, one-wash so they are very comfortable, hidden rivets, low-rise and modern fit. Side note: Maybe LAG can comment here, but I did notice that there were loose threads on the side stitching (not sure what the technical term is), but it's on the side of the jeans near your pocket. It looks like they did it on purpose, but it kind of bugged me since I like everything to be clean and tidy. Did yours have this LAG?
