eat sensibly. doesnt have to be all broccoli stems and celery. just eat whatever but eat sensibly.

but dont eat fries and dont drink sugary sodas, cut that out completely.

exercise everyday. do something simple move around go for a walk.

you'll lose weight.

We don't exercise enough
Everything at the supermarket is processed garbage
The average person thinks fast food is fine to eat
We're hooked on prescription meds

Anything else? I don't need a book to spell it out for me.

It's a great book, written by nutritional researcher Gary Taubes. Believe I read it last month, and enjoyed it. His first book Good Calories/ Bad Calories is difficult to read. It was meant for the professional health care provider. The new book, Why We Get Fat is built off of GCBC, but much easier to understand. The author became somewhat well known after writing this article for the NYT. When I was on college, I was pretty damn fit. I had 7AM classes M/W/F so I went to the gym at 5AM and worked out. I didn't eat either so I wasn't fat. I met my wife, we moved in together, and in the morning when I was getting ready for work, she was sitting at the dinning table and eating. I looked at her funny and asked what she was doing, her response was, "breakfast." I didn't know what the hell that was, but I asked for a bite. Same thing the next morning, I asked again, and she made me this "breakfast."

5 years later, I'm 25 pounds heavier. Sadly, this is a true story.

Don't eat anything that comes out of a box. Other than soup, eat foods found in the periphery of the supermarket - fruits, veggies, meat, some dairy. All that stuff in the middle are the things that make you fat.

Don't drink your calories

Take walks, do pushups, do situps
