You have some beautiful squares Dave. I think the Corneliani are awesome.

Thanks!

The E.G. Capelli squares are especially nice. I could see those colors coordinating especially well with fall winter fabrics -tweeds, corduroy, flannels, etc.
Squares with a touch of brown are an especially nice way to pick up the color in brown calf or suede shoes.

I love this.. Do you mind if i use it as a description on my website!!??

Sorry guys but I just can't warm up to pocket circles.

I'm with PSG on that. FWIW, I'm wearing the HELL outta my wool Drakes squares this Fall. Amazing what those bold colors do to a fit.

Agreed. It isn't so much the patterns (which are nice) but that Drakes absolutely nails it when selecting combinations of seasonal colors in their patterns. Their fall/winter color combinations are some of the very best available anywhere. They really understand color.

Alexander Olch is making these pocket circles.. i can't imagine they are as versatile with regard to folds as a pocket square

They are a gimmick that many "ahem" better men's store have bought into recently. A square is far more versatile for folding and highlighting specific colors in a pattern.

I can't imagine how you would use them other than to pinch and stuff. I think they're a way for a guy who goes for the contrast edges type of folds to get a little variation on the typical fold. I stuffed one in my pocket at the store, and it looked pretty good. Does the one thing, though; not at all versatile.

I've always worn white linen pocket squares so I'm a newb at matching/complementing them... I need some feedback on this. Does it work? I believe it's a total disaster, with the pocket square being too loud, but maybe I'm wrong?

yes it's a total disaster. if for no other reason than the square completely dominates everything else.

ideally the area of the shirt/tie should dominate so that the eye is drawn towards your face.

Unfortunately I'm having a time envisioning how one could wear a square that solid and bright at all. But perhaps if much less of it were showing and without flash photography it could work.

With that solid satin tie a multi color madder silk square would work, as would perhaps something in wool or cashmere. A textural contrast is a nice addition.

Yeah that's what I tought, it's way too loud... even without flash, it looks too bright and distracting. I'll just go buy some wearable squares

Thank you!
