I like those colors. I've looked at a lot of other batiks before and this one is neater and cleaner.

Thanks. Probably it helps that I'm living in Jakarta and shops that sell batik are everywhere, so I browse the shops ever so often.
Still, it's taken me a lot of patience and luck to find a few that I found acceptable.

That is actually very pretty, 'warms' up the suit in a way

I'd buy if you were to make another..

That mustard yellow, with green and blue ^ is a rare color combination that I like a lot. It adds an attractive and distinctive accent to an overall navy, brown, tan or green suit or jacket. I especially like it for F/W to add a bit of color to winter colors and heavier fabrics.

My new creations by hand all in linen with borders attached by hand as well from other fabrics, not printed stuff.

A lot of handwork and time for making one. IMG-20140429-WA0000.jpg 51k .jpg file

This Vanda is turning out to be super versatile.

Apparently it was a very limited run though. They started selling in mid-late March I think and it was out by early April.

Anyway, its many uses:

And that's how you take advantage of what you own. You're a master. Just... wow. I'm impressed. I wish I had your vision in terms of pairing colors and outfits together. I find myself grabbing my white linen PS 99,5 % of the times. Seeing your combinstions I'm a lost case. Bravo!

Thanks. When I first started out, this thread used to intimidate the hell out of me.

Clags, I may be misjudging your preferred aesthetic, but I think this pops too much in your usual context. Of course, if that's what you're after, then you're succeeding smashingly.

Did you just chop up the scarf?

Made it from a small size ladies' scarf. This is the fabric that I used for the PS:

It's a rather coarse textured, non-shiny silk. I got it from a very common chain of batik stores that can be found all over Indonesia.

Your silk batik squares are smashing. Well done indeed.

Is batik on silk very common? When I was in Malaysia and Indonesia, all I saw was batik on what I assumed was cotton.

The square in general or that fit? That fit was a DTO, though I wouldn't mind the occasional pop in my squares. It isn't something I know how to do well though. That square in general doesn't pop too much though

No, but it was also available as a scarf from Vanda.
