Leave it to Will to find a rationale for the puny 12-incher:

It is a small but irritating problem really. Handkerchiefs intended to be worn in the breast pockets of jackets need to be 16 1/2 to 18" square (42 to 45 cm) if they are to remain visible without adjustment every 15 minutes. But those same handkerchiefs worn in a patch pocket are really too large. They seek to escape confinement and spread themselves across half the chest, for a properly proportioned patch pocket is considerably smaller than the regular kind.

I posted about twenty new PTO squares in our Etsy shop today. They're all made from vintage rayon from the 1940s (and in a few cases 1950s). Got a few more coming, too.

Thanks!

I've been scouring vintage shows, eBay, Etsy and fabric shops for like a year and a half to put together this collection. Really proud of what I found.

Strong reason to be proud. Excellent step forward, continuing from the great blog.

Here's another new one we just got back from our seamstress. Very old kimono cotton.

This one's a lot smaller than our usual - a hair bigger than 12x12.

Sounds like a job for a gentleman plumber.

I love Drakes hanks, especially when Barneys and Mr. Porter are having sales...

I bought a Drake's piece in the Mr. Porter sale. I've been resisting buying one of those boat ones they had for spring... I have all the pocket squares I could ever need, but it's been calling out to me.

I got the Drake's bicycle square from Mr Porter. I think it had sold out by around noon the first day.

Wow!!!!! I had no idea this existed. I don't like to expose too much personal information over the interwebs, but bicycles are my hobby and I have a fairly large collection. I would have very much loved this square! Nice purchase!

The second one is nice, I purchased for myself. They had some nice PS on Mr. Porter.
