Ignore anything and everything GQ says. In fact, do the opposite.

That is just so they can say this fall, "Get hip, get silk"

I figured as much...in an alternate universe somewhere GQ knows as much as they think they do...I do subscribe just to see what new designers are out there but man, some of their spreads are too...I dunno...neo-Thom Browne in a world where thread and fabric are rationed and only burly dudes in motorcycles with midgets on their shoulders that have the audacity to raid fabric trucks can get actual clothes that fit what with all the fabric they steal....yeah...something like that.

Mad Max for fabric.

Drakes? I have seen that square and liked it quite a bit. Looks great. Do you wear it with navy?

I've got the same one in a different colour and wear it with navy

Hello,

I am new to the matching/coordinating pocket squares system. Could you please tell me what this ensemble looks like. The pocket square is silk, with cotton sport coat and linen shirt. Is the pocket square too much of the same colour as the shirt? Can the pocket square pattern (squares/waves) go with the lined pattern of the shirt?

Thank you!

Guideline: If the pocket square colour is too close to the shirt colour, it looks too much at first glance like you just have a hole in your jacket.

Your jacket is blue. Your shirt appears to be a blue/grey, or possibly lilac. Try a patterned yellow/gold square.

Darn. That's why that girl didn't kiss me.

Purchased many unfinished pocket squares, but they are quite big (17x17, 18x18" etc), what should I really do with them? Will they fold nicely?

Is there a consensus on what size of square is considered ideal around here?
just wondering.
Depends on what size breast pocket you consider ideal smile.gif

Also depends on what the square is made of. Squares made out of stiffer material can be smaller because they won't ball up as much in the pocket.
