If yes, what do you suggest instead?

Thank you in advance.

Please reconsider wearing a purple tie with a purple shirt. You don't want to look like a Men's Warehouse mannequin. Just that is far too matchy-matchy, to say nothing of an also-purple pocket square. Why are you putting together this outfit? Try searching the forum for relevant threads---there is a wealth of information out there already.

Regarding the purple, I think a brown-based pocket square would work, but I am going to agree with the above poster and recommend a different shirt or tie (a light blue shirt is a safe choice).

I'm loving this vintage Ferregamo on the bay:

Processed By eBay with ImageMagick, R1.1.1.||B2||T0JKX0lEPTRmNjc4MmQ3YTI0NzI0NWYwNGY2NzljMmU5NDAxYTA1MTUxZGUyNDZlMzc4fHxTRUxMRVJfTkFNRT1saW5zbG92ZWx5czRsZXNzfHxPUklHSU5BTF9FQkFZX1FVQUxJVFlfU0NPUkU9NHx8Q1JFQVRJT05fREFURT0zLzI2LzEzIDY6NTUgUE0=

Unfortunately, it's got some condition issues.

Hey, it's vintage, it bound to have condition. But yes it does look great, classics will never die.

Has anyone ever tried wearing a lace PS? It seems interesting in theory, but not sure how it would work out in practice.

IMHO the patterns are different but the colours are the same. So, sure it will be matchy but I reckon you should wear it with great pride if it makes your heart happy and you like it.. Hell you will still look 100 times better than 99% of the rest of the population.

Brown / green is good too.

Of course this is just my opinion. I would prefer it to be matchy than mismatched.

I suppose it is. The artist took liberty — the horse and hawk are made of flowers.

Interesting. I don't picture wearing a lace PS myself, though.

A matchy pocket square is the first thing you aren't supposed to do when wearing one. He would be better off without one altogether than the one in the pic.

Just finished reading through this entire thread. Blown away. A suit is inappropriate at my office and my sport coat selection is currently limited to one (1) tweed jacket, so my KW white linen suffices for just about anything... but the advice and looks permeating this thread are fantastic.

We just put a bunch of new stuff in the PTO shop. Here are a few highlights.

The white one is Irish linen, 16x16, and $45. Everything's handmade in the US, and available in our Etsy shop.

Wearing a wool navy suit and a white shirt with this tie:

And looking for a pocket square. Probably something that will add a little color to the outfit as it's entirely navy/white centric right now, but still remaining pretty simple. How do you guys feel about something like this:

Change of texture and a little splash of color adds something more interesting than the all navy attire. Tell me what you think, and I'm open to suggestions.
