Not trying to knock you or be unhelpful but the source of your problems isn't the pocket square, it's learning how to actually fold and fit it so it actually complements you and the suit. As helpful as I can be though, the blue colour is a better match to the tie and shirt.

Thanks for your comments. Where would you start re folding?

Also I'd suggest ditching that shirt. At least don't wear it with that suit.

Bases upon the photos, the color of the blue pocket square doesn't offer enough contrast or compliment to the color of your suit or tie. It is simply the wrong shade of blue to wear with that suit.

Damn, I hesitated on the Drakes tiger squares at the Barneys sale and when I went back they were gone. These squares by Seaward & Stearn look nice though:

I'm guessing maybe they are a wool/silk blend? Anyone tried the Seaward & Stearn squares? The manufacturer doesn't appear to have a website.

^^^both attractive color combinations.

Indeed. I pointed out one of the Drakes to a loved one, and it's no longer available. Maybe I'll get a nice surprise...

Has anyone else tried Razor Squares? I simply had to have this starched and pre-folded model after seeing it, stiffness be damned. It's still the most beautiful fold I've seen.

The foulness nearly defies description.

You of all people could be very helpful to a newcomer to this scene, such as myself. Your input (in addition to the above, which I have noted) would be appreciated. Colour for example....

We all have to start somewhere. I think you could benefit alot from looking at pictures in this thread, and looking at fits in the waywrn thread and read the critique. There is lots of inspiration!

I'm going to an opera concert next week and I want to try a pocket square for the first time.  For some reason I didn't check out SF before ordering my first square, so I just ordered a second.  By Monday or Tuesday I should have silk white paisley pocket square (Brioni) and a traditional white linen pocket square with hand rolled edges.

I plan on wearing a navy Canali suit, white wide-spread Borrelli shirt and an aqua blue Brioni tie with very small white flowers and a double-FIH knot.

I'll take pictures next week but which square and what fold do you think will give me the most refined look?  I literally started thinking about pocket squares for the first time this morning while I was bored in the office.  I definitely plan on starting up a collection but I am going to stick with white for my first time out.

In my shopping bag online as well...they're actually cashmere and silk.

If you're wearing the silk square, just do a puff. Just stuff it in and play with it a little bit until it makes you happy (that's what she said!).

Your overall plan sounds like a good one, although I'd trade the aqua blue tie for something darker if you have it.
