Makes all the difference in the world. I have a (relatively new) Micro Four Thirds setup: Olympus PEN PL-2 with a Panasonic 20mm (40mm equivalent) 1:1.7 lens. The pocket square photos are taken under my halogen desk lamps against a continuous white background. VERY true to life colors and great macro capabilities. Most of these shots were taken at about 12 inches. It's not an inexpensive setup (I have about $1,200 into the body, lens, filters, hood, strap, etc., but I am VERY happy!)

The One Square ® that Fred H shows is also a smaller size 13 x 13 that everyone seems to want on SF because it takes up less room in the pocket. Less PS bulge.

I copped a few pocket squares and a pocket circle recently:

I've posted a couple of pics recently which, with one exception, has not drawn criticism, praise or anything really. I've read through pretty much the whole thread a few times and still get confused a bit when it comes to my own choices and outfits. Anyway, I figured I'd post a few more pics of the outfit I'm wearing today with a few options and see if I could gleam any insight as to what works/doesnt and why. For the record: I'm currently wearing this combo with a WHITE LINEN PS. Wanted to see if I had other options for the future since I'm just starting to get into dressing better.

I think the pics are somewhat clear enough to pick up the pattern/color of the jacket and obviously the shirt, but it takes the last pic to see the tie has very tiny blue dots in this grid type pattern. Sorry about the folds.

Thanks in advance!

The second choice (looks like paisley?) takes it.
And I would personally throw away the first one -- that blue satin number.

Its actually a 4-sided PS.....the two paisleys, the plain blue "satin" and a white with blue edges making up the 4-sides. I bought it at Nordstrom's as my 2nd PS because I thought it would give more options, not sure if I believe that now.

It just would not be the same without you. Others probably learn from your mistakes, and your victories. and vice versa. so, everyones input is needed, and your is very important indeed.

Thanks, I will.

It seems like this is a case of one good option, four three bad ones.  On occasion a handkerchief with an inner pattern and outer trim can serve double-duty depending on how it's folded, but I'd stay away from any Swiss Army Knife options in the future.

Hmmmm..... I dont think I would choose any of those PS's if I was given a choice, but the second one at a push. The tie may have the tiniest bit of blue in it but I would stick to the white PS in the meantime and maybe look for one with a predominately green and brown / grey / black / white edge / pattern whatever.

I'll echo the previous comments about the pocket square choice but that is a great tie, where did you find it?

Got it at Neiman Marcus Last Call for $57.00. Stefano Ricci makes it. A good deal for me.

I just bought this vest:
500

I'd like to put a square in the pocket. Any ideas on what would look good?

White cotton/linen at most.  I wouldn't go overboard on this one, because a patterned vest with leather trim is a  busy look.

Note that any square in this look place may cause you to look affected to some.

By the way, is this Cucinelli from STF?  Good job.
