If you iron your pocket square carefully there is no reason not to iron them. It is a personal choice.

Pocket squares can be ironed on the inside flat area. Be careful not to iron the hand rolled edges. To be safe use a press cloth to prevent a glossy shine from developing. Patterned fabric should be ironed on the reverse side.

For deep wrinkles a gentle steam from a steam iron or steamer can be used on the reverse side before ironing. Also, be very careful when steaming pocket squares as occasionally steamers “spit” water which can cause water spots.

There's a faint hint of pink in this just to keep Spoo happy.

I feel that pocket square is too similar to his tie/too muted? I don't know—a little dull?

Love how he's rocking a receding hair-line (it's all to do with stress/toxins in the body!)—most guys find that hard to deal with!

I need some advice. Want to order a cotton pocket square. Deciding between gingham and houndstooth, which is more of a basic. Also, for gingham, which should be my first colour. I am thinking black or med blue.

Black and white, blue and white? I think gingham will suit blue and white, more—hounds-tooth will suit black and white, more! Also, depends on what you're wearing! ;p Tbh, my personal favourite, for gingham, is red, white and blue and/or madras (although, it's so hard to find a good madras!)! I like hounds-tooth, sometimes—especially in a muted gray (not so stark!) but that's just me!

I like the red white and blue gingham. Other than that...blue and white gingham or black and white houndstooth.

I was just wondering which was more universal. I was considering other gingham colours as well.

I guess, I would say gingham is more 'in trend', atm—hounds-tooth had a thing a while back? Personally, I much prefer gingham—a nice light blue and white one—very summery! Although, a black and white hounds-tooth would look very old-fashioned-slender with a black blazer?!

Nice!

Could be slightly greyer but then maybe you wouldn't see it?! (Sorry for massive image!)

New member saying hello from Sweden!

I find this thread really interesting to follow, some pictures really inspire me! However, I still haven't found what I'm looking for and would like to ask you for assistance. I'll be graduating from the university in one month and for the final festivity dinner I'm planning on wearing a navy suit with dark brown buttons, a white shirt (possibly a white shirt with really thin dark blue stripes) and C&J dark brown Hallam shoes. With this I have come to like the idea of wearing a orange paisley tie I own, much like this but somewhat darker. I'm trying to find a pocket square to complement this outfit but so far I haven't found a single one that made me go wow! I'm fully aware of how useful the white linen TV-fold is, but I have a feeling that alot of the people attending will think "Ah, a Mad Men copycat...", and that's not what I want.

I have considered (and know where to find 1 & 2):
1. a rather shiny/illustrious silk square with ½ inch white border and a thin dark blue edge (puff & points fold)
2. a plain orange
3. a madras patterned with blue and orange
4. some sort of orange/blue or orange/brown composition

I would really appreciate some input and suggestions as to what to wear... Perhaps drop the thought of an orange square and go for something like burgundy? Or perhaps drop orange altogether and go for yellow instead? Red, purple and brown could work but I'd fancy a warm color that is not red.

Looking forward to read your thoughts!
/Karl

Don't match your orange tie and don't wear a white TV fold. Get a nice white linen and fold it this way.

I also like the idea of a white linen square with a border. Gingam or striped ps as well that is white and one other colour (red, purple or green perhaps).
