Based on the pictures below, do you think I require toe/heel taps? The toes seem to be taking a lot of wear, probably because of the elongated toe of the Simpson last on Carmina.
what about getting gum off the side of my ALDEN cordovan # 8 longwings?? i recently got gum on side of shoe and can't seem to get it off!!!!
Bump only because I'd like to bring them to a cobbler tomorrow morning if it's needed. Thanks! :)
Hello SF shoe care experts. I have a two part question:
I recently picked up a pair of vintage Florsheim Imperials that are unworn and in-box. They look factory fresh, but having sat in a box since the 1980's (and I am pretty sure they haven't been given any care during that period), I am wondering what sort of immediate action I should take before wearing them (I assume it would be a bad idea to just put them on).
Which brings me to part 2 of my question, should I always take some action before wearing any new shoe? Generally I have worn new shoes until a reasonable interval elapsed, or the shoe needs some attention, and then performed fairly standard care (leather treatment, polish).
