So, it would seem that sole edge restoration isn't as simple as first appears. I did say that I'm a complete novice in this area. Have taken on board the fact that sanding the edges might cause the leather to become more absorbent. I'll wait and see. Luckily, I tried this out on an expendable pair. I'd still like to give the tube of thicker Saphir stuff a try. It isn't on the 'A Fine Pair of Shoes' website yet.

Off-topic: I found this link from AAAC. Between 1 - 10, how weirdly obsessive would owning one of these make you? biggrin.gif I could always hide it in the top cupboard, along with the shoe buffing nylons/stockings.
