Have you guys noticed any benefit from using shoe trees in your suede shoes (especially boots)? I feel like they're stretching them out a little.

Out of genuine curiosity and/or ignorance, what is the advantage of a shoe polishing apron compared to my 5$ kitchen apron?

I use a solid heavy canvas kitchen apron found on ebay.

The difference would be that your $5 kitchen apron is probably made of a lighter fabric, which can be useful if you stand in the kitchen for any length of time preparing food with an apron hanging from your neck. Bib style Lap aprons tend to be of a heavier weight canvas for a couple of reasons: You will have things in your lap that may soak through a lighter weight fabric, and you will be sitting so the weight is less of a factor on your neck.

I have seen some heavier weight commercial kitchen aprons, and of course there is a waist tie that helps support the weight. But, I still prefer a light kitchen apron when cooking, and a heavy canvas lap apron when I polish my shoes.

Do you guys wear satin gloves, too? Good grief...

Received my hanger project sheepskin mitt today for polishing my cordovan. Not trying to get a military shine (those days are gone) but brushes tend to leave micro-lines and I don't have the patience to sit there and brush them for 5 minutes.

I also ordered the bone backed suede brush and deer bone and stocked up on Saphir and shoestrings while I was burning money.

Only if over the elbow length. The shorter ones clash with my tiara.
