Thank you! That does seem easy enough, but doesn't seem very tight. I usually pull tight on every row of hooks individually, which is where the snapping out usually happens. And it's just regular criss cross lacing. I used to use that and still do on beater shoes, but not on boots.
Also, I really use the ladder lacing style, where I can leave individual parts of the lacing a little less tight than the rest to help with my right foots sensitivities and still have the rest hold really tight: http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/ladderlacing.htm
