I presume stores in NYC carry it? Shipping is like 15 bucks for a 20 dollar product.
Yes and no.

Try calling B Nelson Shoe Repair in Manhattan.

Or you may wish to explore the links I gave you - as they offer free shipping on a dollar amount.

^^^ Additionally, there is a case from the "Ask and Answer" section of the Long Branch boots, where someone asks what type of the leather they are made of, and if they are Chromexcel. The response from AE was "while we cannot share the name of our supplier, we can tell you that the leather manufactured for the Long Branch does not come from Horween." Take that for what you please, but it does reflect some lack of transparency on the source of some of their leathers.

There is some deductive reasoning going on there. Horween's blog post on their Essex and Dublin leathers from 2011: http://horween.com/leathers/essex-and-dublin/ specifically says that the AE Rough Collection uses it, and the McTavish is part of the original line-up of the Rough Collection. In other words, I don't know what a lot of their current models in the collection are made of, and they actually won't divulge that information generally speaking. As for the Cognac Dublin, the Rapid City is made from the same leather, and they actually do say in the description for that shoe that it is Dublin: http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/producti_SF6051_1_40000000001_-1 As I said above, they don't really divulge the source for most of their leathers, though you can make some educated guesses and use some deductive reasoning for a lot of it. The CEO did say over in the AE Appreciation Thread a while back that their main calfskin suppliers are from France and Germany, and their main leather sole provider is from Turkey, but that's not very specific. They also use JR Redenbach soles (mainly for their shell offerings) which is of course from Germany.

Thanks for the reply. I actually saw that Horween blog post, but didn't notice the reference to AE, thanks for pointing it out.

Anyone actually use Saphir's Neutral shoe cream (#2)? I assume it doesn't have any dyes and have been looking for Reno minus the cleaner.

Well shoe creams are polishes. If that is what you are looking for that it is fine, but if you are looking for just a conditioner it probably isn't optimal.

I had never been to the Avel website before, but aside from it being horrible they don't say anything about Reno being a conditioner, only a polish. What is that about? There is such an abundance of contrary information on the internet on this stuff you'd think their own website would be the clearest, but alas, it adds another level to the mystery.

Almost sounds like your looking for this:

Saphir Creme Universelle

Although as Patrick said in regards to what exactly the difference between one Saphir product vs another is a bit difficult to tell. I'm not exactly sure what makes this any different than the neutral shoe polish.

the intersesting on that site is that if you open the same product in english and in french it has diferent description (not the french translated in english)! i think Valmour site is better on that!(in most cases has the french description translated in english!!(see the french description in Avel site)

As far as i know the neutral cream polish has turpentine as solvent,no mink oil or jojoba oil or lanolin, a lot more percentage of wax's in it!! renovateur is mink oil based-neutral polish is sea butter based!! the renovateur is more conditioner with cleaning properties and the other one is polish with some fiew conditioning properties!!

Creme Universelle is kind of watery compared to a creme or polish.

Can anyone tell me what the difference between Allen Edmonds Premium Shoe Polish (in a tube) and their Cordovan Care Cream (in a glass jar) is?
Tristan,

From the Allen Edwards company:

"Depending on the color of the AE Cordovan - If an AE Dalton Shell in a Walnut (light brown), then AE recommends Neutral Premium Polish in a tube.

That wasn't what he asked
