Yes.

I'd tear up a Sloppy Joe right now but Chicken a la King sounds gross. Come to the house of a rural/suburban Midwestern housewife 40-50+. You'll find plenty of strange hotdishes, casseroles, pickle dips and jello molds to satisfy your cravings.

Love Sloppy Joes. Easy, delicious, and not terrible for you. Hard to beat.

Horrible question. Who wouldn't eat a sloppy joe? Is your next question going to be does anyone breathe air anymore? Watch porn?

IIRC, when I was a teenager, chicken ala king came frozen in a pouch and you boiled the thing in water to thaw and reheat. Cut it open and poured it over some toast. Think it was from Stouffers. Haven't thought about it since. Substitute now would be King Ranch Chicken. BBQ place in dallas makes one by chopping all the different meats they sell, sauce and throw it on a bun and call it a sloppy joe.

If by sloppy joe you mean ass...then yep. Eat it like an ethiopian with a hundred bucks at mcdonalds

In the words of Chris Onstad:
"The sloppy joe: a barely functional concept, falling out of vogue."

On the east coast, a sloppy joe also refers to a roast beef sandwich with swiss cheese, coleslaw and russian dressing. I eat those frequently, as do I also occasionally make the other kind of sloppy joes. Here's a recipe I sometimes use: Italian Sloppy Joes 2 lbs. ground meat 1 med. onion chopped fine 3 tab. olive oil Mix the above first 3 T. Worcestershire sauce 3 tab. wine vinegar 2 tab. sugar 1/2 cup water 1 (12 oz. bottle) ketchup salt and pepper Combine the second group and pour over meat. Simmer for 20 minutes. And... cuz we all love it:

I've never seen one on a menu here on the west coast, yet LA is a self-proclaimed "burger town". I'm just thinking of a retro food fad that one of the countless food trucks around here could exploit (although eating a Sloppy Joe while standing would probably make things even sloppier). How about a Chicken ala King truck?

These are awesome sandwiches. Can also be made w/ trukey or ham. Absolutely delicious, but you need the right kind of coleslaw (not sweet mass-produced stuff), rye bread (country club) and russian (creamy - not too 'orange'). These are double-decker sandwiches and should be cut in thirds across the short side of the sandwich (i.e. top to bottom). Also, need to be made fresh and consumed imeediately as they do not hold up well due to the sandwiches inherent slopiness...
