Have you seen that Hulu+ now has them online? It's a really neat collabo, IMHO. For $7.95 a month (and you get a free 1 week trial) you can watch many of the currently released Criterions. I wish they'd do more of these kinds of things, instead of just having the latest episode of "Glee."

I have not been keeping up with Hulu because they rarely have anything but I like but know it looks like I am going to subscribe to Plus. Thanks Rach2jlc for saving me some money.

You're welcome! I think they just recently started the collabo, but I was really excited and watched several really good ones that I'd been wanting to see for a while. They also have a one week free subscription, so you can try it out and see how you like it before committing. BUT, again for $8 a month, it's probably well worth it. I'm glad they did this Criterion collabo, and think it's a really smart move and one I wish they'd do with "artsier" or more limited-distribution films/projects/shows. My problem with Criterions is that they are hard to find, and pricey. And, I mean, really, HOW MANY times am I going to want to watch some of these films? Sure, I could watch Throne of Blood a dozen times, but how many times will I watch Godard or Truffaut or some of those others? For that, $35-40 for the DVD is hardly worth it. Further, it seems to me that Criterion (or other artsier company) could make more $$$ in collabo with Hulu, because (again) there are many people who would want to see the movies, but won't really ever hunt them down on DVD or pay the $$$ otherwise. Many (like me) also check them out for free from the library. This way, on the interwebz, everybody can make some $$$ and hopefully can lead to wider selection. Enjoy!

Yea I often find my self in Barnes and Noble about to buy one and I walk around with it in my hand and am like. Why pay $30 for a dvd I might watch once or twice and end up putting it back on the shelf. I just started the free trial and they have quite a few of the ones I was looking to watch so I think it is well worth it. It also gives me a chance to watch ones I might not have normally picked to watch as well. I agree with you that it was wise on criterions part to do this collaboration. Hopefully people watch them more through hulu so that we can maybe get the rest of the films on there.
