It may be great, but it's short lived.

The quality isn't great but you get the idea.

I drive 90% of the time within the DC city limits (10 miles worth of driving at most) and ocassionally to the MD suburbs (20 miles back and forth). So range isn't a concern for me. I get to save on gas money (~$4 a gallon here) and the cars are smaller (hence easier to park). I'll miss the sound of an engine and exhaust though.

I don't remember all of the details but it was found that Top Gear was pushing the car for no particular reason, that the Roadster wasn't really out of electricity. I guess they did it to demonstrate their point of view which is pretty much anti-electric.

Clarkson should go work for the Ferrari press office. How do a cars brakes break when they aren't being used while the car is charging?!?

It does should a little strange, but I'd bet it was something electrical. Probably something to do with the recharging system. Have you ever seen any electric vehicle work 100% of the time? Any time Discovery airs something about electric vehicles, there is always is something. I was watching the X Prize thing about the high MPG cars, the one just burst into flames while being charged. I have zero interest in the Tesla so I haven't researched it much, but I bet they have their problems too.
