I hate buying shoes online. It's a total pain in the ass unless you have your sizing absolutely keyed in. Even then, it can still be a total pain in the ass.

With that said, Zappos isn't that great. Their prices are not discounted and their selection of nicer brands isn't good. Check out some of the English stores if you're serious about mail order - pediwear is a good example.

I've used www.Eastbay.com for shoes.

They usually have a coupon floating around somewhere.

just saw a site called shoebacca.com.... haven't been yet but there is a livingsocial deal (like groupon) for 25 for 50.
