I too visited the factory outlet this weekend.

Picked up some Hallams in 'antique burgundy', a colour I can only seem to find elsewhere in women's shoes.
Being pretty much new to quality shoes, these are a new world of comfort and style.
The only flaw I can find is one of the toecaps not being square, but you can only notice this if the shoes are against each other. A steal for 180GBP.

Excellent shine Gerry. Did it take you long to get to it to that state?

Thank you.
It seems to be different burgundy to the colour C&J usually offer. Looks more purple and less red. It's used on the 'Jenny' and the 'Courtenay'

I was so tempted to pick that exact same shoes yesterday, but I opted for the Tedbury instead (pictures to follow later when I have some sunlight in London :D)

And I am not sure if you or anyone experienced sizing problem with the recent batch of reject at C&J.

I am a normal 7.5/8E for C&J, but when I visited the shop ytd, all of the 7.5 I tried were far too big for me that I ended up with a 7E. Not sure if it was just me.

Scary lesson that now will stop me from acquiring shoes over the internet

Thanks, @jas0nt! Nah, not long at all. I got them secondhand and this was the first polish so it was a case of reno, cream and then wax. I think I put on three or four layers of wax on each boot.

Spoo's photo below was my inspiration:

Any chance you could post pics of your Harlech's in sunlight?

Yes of course i was tempted and bought them before Harlech's. Ok here are some pics in daylight and i also got Metal toe taps installed.

@clee1982 - i have ordered several pairs from C&J Burlington Arcade and never got hit with duty. The package is delivered usually via. USPS or UPS.

^ you're killing me. Now, I gotta ask, can you kindly post photos of your Skye's?

Do you have a preference between the Harlech and the Skye?

Great job on the toe cap.

Hey guys, looking for some sizing advice for 341 last. I own a pair of C&J in 348 last, however, it's quite sung in the toe area and pinch my pinky toe. I am also 7.5D in Alden Barrie & Tru-balance Last and 7.5E in Alden Aberdeen last.

What size do you guys recommend me foe the 341 last? Thank you so much!

I am a 7.5D in Barrie boots.  I have two Harlechs, both in UK 7E and they fit a bit loose with thinner socks but are perfect with thicker boot socks.  The Harlech/341 is a "pointier" boot than the Barrie so there's going to be more empty space up front. The general advice is to go down 1/2 size from Barrie, or go down 1 full size from your TTS/Brannock US size.

I think I could have gone for a 6.5E in the Harlech boots but then I would have always had to wear thin socks.  Be forewarned, the Harlech boot is a long boot.  When I compare my UK 7E Harlech boots to my US 7.5D Barrie boots, the Harlechs are longer by a substantial amount.  Part of that is due to the pointier toe but also that the storm welt on the Harlech protrudes further all round the upper much more than any of my Barrie boots.

Good luck!  The whiskey Harlech is a killer boot.  No wonder that this will be the third GMTO of this boot on SF.
