Its called "Crocking" it is where the skin pulls away from the flesh. It is common on all leathers, and you need not worry. The placement is not ideal, but it will not effect the longevity of the boots. Once you kick some sh#t in them it will not matter anymore. Nice boots.

Nice boots, but no way I would be happy with paying full price and have the crocking thing on such a noticeable area. I would exchange them for another pair if not too much of a hassle. Once you know it's there, it's all you see!

An Aussie mate  is visiting over the long weekend and we're heading out shortly for a meal to catch up.  I've broken out my new Hartlands in ocean suede for their maiden voyage, with flat front cavalry twill chinos and navy blue blazer (aka California tux).  I confess, I'm a bit of a C&J ankle boots fan.

My Chelsea 5 (my 2nd C&J) bought from Budapester in Berlin.

I have a pair of Suede Monkton in E which are a bit narrow, but it's okay for me as I don't usually wear them for long periods anyway. I usually wear Loake shoes, and I've found the most comfort in their narrower G and their wider F, so presumably I am somewhere in between. http://www.pediwear.co.uk/newsitem/60.php The best fitting last for me is the 026F and 026G. Hard to say which is better as both are good but the former was a chukka and the latter was a chelsea.

Am I correct that essentially for CJ E = Loake F, and F = G? I was going to try get a pair of G Monkton but I hear that's their extra wide fit, and perhaps I'm better suited with an F? Is there a guide for CJ lasts and fits for me to use? Tried to look up but can't find anything thorough. Thanks.

I would also like to know this.
